DETENTION OFFICER I

Description: Assists with the initial processing and transportation of detainees and inmates. Assists with serving meals to detainees and inmates. Coordinates and assists with social and recreational activities for detainees and inmates. Assists with scheduled times for personal and area hygiene. Conducts security checks and head counts.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is required. Experience in a detention or corrections environment is preferred. Knowledge of standardized rules, procedures or operations applicable to the work performed is preferred. Considerable training is required to do the full range of standard assignments. Candidate must have no felony convictions or significant misdemeanor convictions.

Special Requirements: Valid Driver’s License is required

Salary: Grade 11/$25,788 Annually
